This November, leaders, caregivers, and home-based providers from across the state gathered at the Nebraska State Capitol to mark something deeply meaningful: Governor Jim Pillen’s proclamation of November as National Care at Home Month.
National Care at Home Month shines a spotlight on the compassionate work happening every day in living rooms, kitchens, farmhouses, duplexes, rural homes, and neighborhoods throughout Nebraska. It honors the caregivers, nurses, home health teams, hospice professionals, service coordinators, and family members who make it possible for individuals to remain safe, supported, and independent at home.
And this year, AmanaCare was honored to be part of that moment.
Standing Together for Nebraska Care
Representing AmanaCare were:
- Erich Nickman, Chief Financial Officer
- Tim Martens, Chief Operating Officer
They stood alongside:
- Adrian Sanchez, Associate Director, Nebraska Home Care Association
- Janet Seelhoff, Executive Director, Nebraska Home Care Association
Together, they accepted the proclamation on behalf of the thousands of Nebraskans who provide and receive care at home every day.
For us, it wasn’t just a moment of recognition — it was a celebration of purpose.
Why National Care at Home Month Matters
Care at home is personal.
It’s relationship-driven.
And it reflects some of Nebraska’s most deeply held values: faith, family, and community support.
Across the state, home-based care allows individuals to:
- Stay in the environment where they feel most comfortable
- Maintain dignity and independence
- Stay connected to family, routines, and community life
- Receive personalized support — not just services
It also recognizes another key group: family caregivers.
The moms, daughters, sons, spouses, and relatives who selflessly care for someone they love — often while balancing jobs, finances, and daily life.
National Care at Home Month honors them, too.
AmanaCare’s Heart for Nebraska Communities
As a faith-based, Nebraska-founded home care agency, AmanaCare is deeply rooted in the communities we serve. Whether a family is looking for home care Lincoln, in home care Omaha, home health care Omaha, home care assistance Kearney, home care North Platte, or home care assistance Scottsbluff, our commitment is the same:
We serve with dignity, compassion, and relationship-centered support.
We walk with families — not just during scheduling or intake — but throughout the entire care journey.
A Month of Honoring, Uplifting, and Encouraging
Throughout National Care at Home Month, organizations across Nebraska are celebrating:
- Hospice & Palliative Care Support
- Non-Medical Home Care Providers
- Medicaid Waiver & Home and Community-Based Services
- Skilled Home Health Teams
Each plays a unique and vital role in helping Nebraskans remain at home — surrounded by comfort, faith, and family.
And AmanaCare is grateful to collaborate with these partners every day.
