A lot is happening in Kearney, and we’re excited to share a few updates that reflect both growth within our team and our continued presence in the community.
At AmanaCare, we believe that great care starts with great people and grows through strong community connections. Kearney is a perfect example of both.
Welcome Chelsea Jensen: Care Coordinator in Kearney
We’re thrilled to welcome Chelsea Jensen as our new Care Coordinator in Kearney!
Chelsea brings a unique and meaningful background to her role. Originally born in Kearney, she has spent time living in Lincoln, Philadelphia, and Indiana before returning home to Nebraska to be closer to family.
Her educational journey is just as impressive as it is diverse. Chelsea:
- Studied history and classics at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln
- Completed an intensive program in Latin and Greek at the University of Pennsylvania
- Earned her master’s degree in teaching Latin from Indiana University
After more than 20 years in education and seven years teaching high school Latin, Chelsea followed a path that brought her closer to serving others in a different way.
While teaching, she worked as a direct support professional, assisting individuals with disabilities in their homes. After returning to Nebraska, she continued that work as a service coordinator for both DD and AD waivers, helping families navigate care and resources.
When the League of Human Dignity closed, Chelsea transitioned to AmanaCare—where she’s able to continue supporting many of the same individuals and families she’s built relationships with.
And that’s something we deeply value.
“I love the opportunity to make connections with people and ensure their needs are met so they can remain living safely and happily at home as long as possible.”
Chelsea’s passion for advocacy is deeply personal. She shared that her great-uncle, who grew up in an institution, later lived independently and worked for many years—an experience that shaped her belief that every person has inherent value and deserves dignity.
Outside of work, Chelsea enjoys:
- Practicing yoga (including puppy yoga!)
- Reading—she’s already completed 16 books this year
- Volunteering with the Arc of Buffalo County and therapeutic horseback riding programs
- Spending time with her family, including her four nieces, one nephew, and her pets—Mariposa the cat and Lulu the corgi
We’re so excited to have Chelsea on our team and serving the Kearney community.
Connecting with the Community: Celebrating Seniors Day
In addition to growing our team, AmanaCare continues to stay active and engaged in the Kearney community.
Recently, Amber Corbin represented AmanaCare at Celebrating Seniors Day at the Peterson Senior Center—and it was a great turnout.
With:
- 30+ organizations present
- Around 300 attendees
the event created a space for seniors, families, and providers to come together, ask questions, and explore available resources.
Amber hosted a vendor table, connecting with attendees and helping families better understand their options when it comes to in-home care and support.
And that’s what these events are all about.
They give people the opportunity to:
- ask questions
- learn what resources are available
- and feel more confident about their next steps
Because navigating care decisions can feel overwhelming—but it doesn’t have to be.
Why It Matters
At AmanaCare, we don’t just provide care—we build relationships.
Whether it’s welcoming someone like Chelsea to our team or showing up at community events like Celebrating Seniors Day, our goal is the same:
To support individuals and families so they can live safely, comfortably, and confidently at home.
Kearney, we’re grateful to be part of your community—and we’re just getting started.
💙 If you’re in the Kearney area and have questions about care options, we’d love to connect with you.
