Out in the Community, Across Nebraska: How AmanaCare Shows Up for Families

AmanaCare in the Community Across Nebraska | Local Support

At AmanaCare, care doesn’t only happen in the home.

It happens in conversations.
In partnerships.
In classrooms, conference rooms, senior centers, and community events across Nebraska.

Because we believe something deeply:

It takes a village to care for Nebraska.

And we’re proud to be part of that village.

Supporting Caregivers in the Panhandle: Empowered Caregiver Conference

On April 18th, our team traveled to Scottsbluff to be part of the first annual Empowered Caregiver Conference, hosted by Regional West and the Alzheimer’s Association.

Susanna Rogers and Heather Schanou represented AmanaCare with a vendor table, connecting with caregivers, professionals, and community members throughout the day.

This conference focused on equipping dementia caregivers with tools for:

  • communication
  • safety
  • managing behaviors
  • supporting independence

With experts from across Nebraska speaking, the event created a space where caregivers could feel supported, educated, and encouraged.

At AmanaCare, we were able to share resources about:

  • in-home caregiving services
  • hiring caregivers
  • and our family caring for family programs

But more importantly, we were there to listen.

Because caregivers don’t just need information—they need to feel seen.

Investing in Families Early: Scottsbluff Public Schools Family Success Center

Susanna also had the opportunity to present to the Scottsbluff Public Schools Family Success Center—a program dedicated to supporting students and families facing real-life challenges.

The Family Success Center focuses on:

  • removing barriers to school attendance
  • connecting families to resources
  • supporting at-risk students
  • providing outreach for families experiencing hardship

Schools are often where needs show up first.

By building relationships with organizations like this, we’re able to help families earlier—before challenges become crises.

Connecting with Seniors in Central Nebraska: Celebrating Seniors Day

In Kearney, Amber Corbin represented AmanaCare at Celebrating Seniors Day at Peterson Senior Center.

With over 30 organizations and around 300 attendees, this event brought together providers and community members for a day of connection and education.

Amber hosted a vendor table, answering questions and helping families better understand their options for care.

These events matter because they give people a chance to:

  • ask questions
  • explore resources
  • and feel more confident about next steps

Building Stronger Partnerships: Bloom & Build in Lincoln

At our Lincoln office, AmanaCare hosted the Bloom & Build WHAM (Women in Healthcare Administration and Marketing) event—and it was something special.

This wasn’t just a typical networking event.

It was designed to create real connections and meaningful collaboration.

Through interactive stations, attendees were able to:

  • share referral needs and opportunities
  • highlight what makes their organizations unique
  • and offer encouragement and inspiration to one another

Because when healthcare professionals understand each other better, everyone benefits—especially the people we serve.

Supporting Families with Disabilities: Lincoln Community Resource Fair

Alicia Brown and Heather Schanou also attended a Community Resource Fair in Lincoln, hosted by The Arc of Lincoln and Lincoln Public Schools.

This event brought together families, caregivers, and providers supporting individuals with disabilities.

Despite competing with a Nebraska basketball playoff game (which we all know is serious business 😄), turnout was strong—and the conversations were even stronger.

At our booth, we shared information about:

  • our Family Caring for Family program
  • the LRI (Legally Responsible Individual) program
  • and in-home care options

Many families don’t realize these programs exist.

Events like this help change that.

Caring for Our Caregivers: Easter Appreciation Events

Across four AmanaCare locations—Lincoln, Kearney, North Platte, and Scottsbluff—our teams hosted caregiver appreciation events around Easter.

Some were:

  • in-office gatherings with drinks, food, and gifts
  • lunches at local venues for easier attendance

Because while we spend so much time caring for others, we never want to forget:

Our caregivers deserve to feel cared for, too.

Looking Ahead: Continuing to Show Up

We’re not slowing down.

Upcoming events include:

  • A vendor booth at the Grand Island Housing Authority
  • Presenting on the LRI program at Employ LNK
  • Speaking and exhibiting at the Nebraska Home Care & Palliative Care Conference
  • Vendor fairs at Madonna Rehab in both Omaha and Lincoln

And many more opportunities to connect, educate, and serve.

Why This Matters

At AmanaCare, we don’t believe in operating in a silo.

We believe in:

  • collaboration over competition
  • relationships over transactions
  • community over convenience

Because no one organization can meet every need.

But together?

We can make a real difference.

Serving Nebraska—Together

From Scottsbluff to Lincoln, Kearney to North Platte, and beyond—

We’re proud to be:

  • Nebraska-based
  • community-minded
  • and deeply connected to the people we serve

Whether it’s through events, partnerships, or in-home care, our goal is the same:

To support Nebraska families with compassion, dignity, and real-life solutions.

💙 If you see us at an event, come say hi. We’d love to meet you.
