There is plenty happening at AmanaCare’s newest Nebraska location! As our Broken Bow office continues to grow, the team is building relationships across central Nebraska while ensuring caregivers are prepared to provide safe, dependable care to the families we serve.
Care Coordinator Natalie Adams recently made the trip to Ainsworth to recognize Tessa Barthel as AmanaCare’s Caregiver of the Month. Recognizing caregivers in the communities where they live and work is important to us, especially in rural Nebraska, where our team members may be spread across many miles.
Natalie has also developed wonderful relationships with the families she serves. That personal connection is an important part of AmanaCare’s approach to care—and something that becomes even more valuable as we continue expanding into new communities.
Behind the scenes, Natalie, Amber Corbin, and Broken Bow Director of Operations Charlene Smith are working beautifully together to establish and grow this newly created location. Broken Bow is now AmanaCare’s sixth Nebraska location, further strengthening our ability to serve families across the state.
Prepared for New First Aid, CPR & AED Requirements
Another major focus across AmanaCare has been ensuring our caregivers meet Nebraska’s First Aid, CPR and AED certification requirements.
While the mandate created a new requirement for home care providers across the state, safety preparedness was not a new concept at AmanaCare. We already had American Red Cross instructors within our organization and were positioned to expand those efforts as the new requirements took effect.
Since then, we’ve been working diligently to certify caregivers throughout Nebraska—and we aren’t stopping with our direct-care team. More AmanaCare office staff members are becoming certified instructors as well.
Having instructors throughout our service areas allows us to offer certification opportunities closer to where caregivers live and makes it easier for newly hired caregivers to complete this important step during onboarding. In a state as geographically large and rural as Nebraska, accessibility matters.
For communities surrounding Broken Bow, healthcare is built around a network of local providers, regional medical facilities, and specialty services. AmanaCare is proud to complement that network by helping individuals remain safe and supported in the place many people most want to be: home.
As our Broken Bow team grows, so do the relationships, resources and opportunities to serve families throughout the region. We’re excited to see what comes next!
