At AmanaCare, we believe caregiving is more than a job — it’s a calling, a skillset, and a pathway to growth. Whether you’re already part of our caregiver family or you’re exploring what a future in home care could look like, we want you to know something clearly: we don’t just serve our clients — we invest in our caregivers.
That’s why we created the AmanaCare Caregiver Growth & Training Ladder — a structured, supportive path designed to help you grow, lead, and make an even bigger impact in the lives of the people you serve.
Grow. Lead. Make an Impact.
Caregiving is meaningful work. Every shift, every visit, and every conversation matters. But growth matters too. You deserve opportunities to develop new skills, take on leadership responsibilities, and explore what’s next in your career.
Our Caregiver Development Program was built for caregivers who are:
- Eager to learn and expand their skillset
- Interested in leadership or mentorship opportunities
- Passionate about serving others with professionalism and heart
- Looking to build a strong resume and long-term career path
At AmanaCare, we walk beside you — step by step — as you discover where your talents and calling can take you.
What Makes AmanaCare Different
We are proud to be a faith-centered, professional, Nebraska-rooted home care agency. Our caregivers support families across a wide range of needs — from at home companion care to personal care home health services and even in-home care services for veterans and their families.
Our core values guide everything we do:
- Humble – We serve with compassion and gratitude
- Driven – We pursue excellence in care and growth
- People Smart – We lead with empathy, communication, and respect
These values aren’t just words on a wall — they show up in how we train, support, and promote our caregivers every day.
The Caregiver Growth & Training Ladder
Our Growth & Training Ladder gives caregivers a clear, structured pathway to advance within AmanaCare. This isn’t about rushing through steps — it’s about building confidence, competency, and leadership at every level.
Step 1: Caregiver Retention Training
This step focuses on strengthening communication, connection, and leadership with fellow caregivers.
You’ll learn how to:
- Conduct meaningful 03s (one-on-one conversations) with caregivers
- Shadow care coordinators to better understand support systems
- Build confidence in coaching and peer support
This is where leadership begins — by learning how to listen, encourage, and guide others.
Step 2: Become a New Hire Trainer
In this phase, you step into a mentorship role, helping welcome and guide new caregivers into the AmanaCare family.
You’ll gain experience in:
- Introducing caregivers to clients and care expectations
- Training on systems like AxisCare, EVV, ADLs, and documentation
- Supporting onboarding and first shifts
This step allows you to shape the culture of care by setting the standard for professionalism, compassion, and excellence.
Step 3: Perform Supervisory Visits
Here, you begin learning how to evaluate care quality and support caregivers in the field.
You’ll develop skills in:
- Conducting home safety checks
- Documenting observations and feedback
- Supporting caregivers through coaching and follow-up
This role helps ensure every client receives the consistent, high-quality care AmanaCare is known for.
Step 4: Competency Checks
This step focuses on training, assessment, and professional development.
You’ll learn how to:
- Conduct 30/60/90-day competency evaluations
- Provide constructive feedback
- Support caregivers in skill-building and confidence
This is where you help others grow — just like you did.
Step 5: Client Onboarding Training
In this phase, you learn how to help welcome new clients into AmanaCare’s care system.
You’ll gain experience in:
- Completing IPCs and onboarding documentation
- Supporting care coordinators
- Helping families feel confident and informed from day one
This role directly impacts how families experience AmanaCare at one of the most important moments in their journey.
Step 6: Departmental Training
This is where your career path truly opens up.
You’ll have the opportunity to:
- Explore advanced training in a department of interest
- Connect with leadership across the organization
- Discover long-term career opportunities within AmanaCare
Whether your passion is care coordination, training, administration, or leadership, this step helps you move toward it.
