Stay Updated on Scottsbluff: Big Wins, Local Connections & a Heart for Community

AmanaCare Scottsbluff/Gering community highlights and 2026 Best of the West home care award

There’s plenty to celebrate in Western Nebraska this month! From a first-place community honor to wellness events, Meals on Wheels and a statewide caregiver recognition, our Scottsbluff/Gering team continues to show what it means to be part of the community we serve.

Voted Best in the West! 🏆

We are incredibly proud to share that AmanaCare’s Scottsbluff/Gering location was voted FIRST PLACE for Best in Home Care in the Star-Herald’s 2026 Best of the West!

This recognition is especially meaningful because it comes from the community itself. Every vote represents someone who has seen, experienced or heard about the care our local team provides—and trusted AmanaCare enough to put our name at the top.

For Susanna Rogers, Director of Operations for our Scottsbluff/Gering location, the award belongs to the entire team.

“Learning that AmanaCare was voted Best in the West for home care filled me with pride and gratitude! This recognition reflects the compassion, dedication, and heart our caregivers bring into every home. It is incredibly meaningful to know that our community sees and values the difference we work so hard to make in the lives of local families.”

We couldn’t have said it better. To our caregivers, clients, families, community partners and everyone who voted for AmanaCare: thank you! 💙

Showing Up for Safety & Wellness

Recognition is wonderful, but our team is still busy doing what helped earn it: showing up.

Susanna recently represented AmanaCare at the Fall Safety and Wellness Conference hosted by Panhandle Public Health District. Even more noteworthy? AmanaCare was the only in-home care agency represented at the conference.

Being in the room for events like this gives our team opportunities to learn, build relationships with other local organizations and make sure home care has a voice in conversations about the health, safety and well-being of people throughout the Panhandle.

Cheeseburgers, Community Partners & Meals on Wheels 🍔

Sometimes community outreach can be meaningful and a little fun.

For National Cheeseburger Day, Susanna made the rounds with updated AmanaCare materials and cheeseburger-themed treats for several of our community partners, including the Gering Aging Office, CAPWN and Regional West.

She also spent part of the day delivering Meals on Wheels for the Scotts Bluff County Volunteer Center through Regional West—and naturally, the Meals on Wheels recipients got a little cheeseburger treat, too.

It’s a small gesture, but those are often the interactions that build the strongest relationships. Staying connected means finding reasons to stop by, say hello, lend a hand and remind people that AmanaCare is part of their community.

And One More BIG Reason to Celebrate… 💙🏆

The Panhandle also happens to be home to AmanaCare’s newly named Nebraska Home Care Association Caregiver of the Year, Hollie Barrios of Chadron!

Hollie received the statewide honor at the Nebraska Home Care Association conference in Kearney, and we couldn’t be prouder to have her representing AmanaCare and the Scottsbluff/Gering territory.

We have much more to share about Hollie and this incredible recognition in her feature article, so we’ll simply say this here: Western Nebraska has plenty to be proud of this month!

From being voted Best in the West to serving meals, building partnerships, promoting wellness and celebrating one of Nebraska’s very best caregivers, our Scottsbluff/Gering team continues to demonstrate that great home care extends far beyond the front door.
