Things are moving quickly in the Nebraska Panhandle, and the AmanaCare Scottsbluff team is keeping pace!
Director of Operations Susanna Rogers and Scheduling Coordinator Tanya Staman have been rocking and rolling with day-to-day operations while continuing to make community involvement a priority. From supporting caregivers and families to delivering Meals on Wheels, they’re finding ways to stay connected to the communities AmanaCare serves.
And there’s plenty to keep them busy.
AmanaCare continues to see growth throughout the Panhandle, where providing care comes with some unique challenges. Western Nebraska communities are spread across a tremendous geographic area, making strong local relationships and dependable community resources especially important.
Healthcare throughout the region relies on a network of major medical centers, critical access hospitals, clinics and community-based organizations. Scottsbluff serves as an important healthcare hub for western Nebraska, while smaller hospitals and providers help make care accessible to residents of surrounding rural communities.
AmanaCare is proud to be another piece of that network by providing non-medical in-home care that helps individuals remain independent, connected and supported at home.
Expanding First Aid, CPR & AED Training
Safety has also been a major focus for AmanaCare teams across Nebraska as caregivers work to complete required First Aid, CPR and AED certification.
AmanaCare was well positioned to respond to the statewide mandate because we already had certified instructors within our organization and an established commitment to caregiver training and safety.
Since the requirement was announced, that effort has expanded considerably. Classes have been offered across our service areas to help caregivers complete their certifications, and more AmanaCare office staff members are becoming instructors themselves.
That investment is particularly valuable in areas like the Panhandle. Rather than relying solely on outside classes or asking caregivers to travel significant distances, having instructors within AmanaCare helps us make training more accessible and allows newly hired caregivers to move through the certification portion of onboarding more efficiently.
Most importantly, these aren’t simply boxes to check.
Caregivers work with people who may be older, medically vulnerable or living with disabilities. Knowing how to respond during an emergency is a skill we hope they never need—but one we believe is incredibly important for them to have.
Between growing operations, supporting caregivers, serving families and finding time to get out into the community, Susanna and Tanya have plenty happening in Scottsbluff and throughout the Panhandle.
And as AmanaCare continues to grow in western Nebraska, our goal remains the same: build strong local relationships while providing care that honors the God-given dignity of those we serve and lead.
