There’s a wonderful new energy in Western Nebraska — and her name is Mattie Churchill! We are thrilled to welcome Mattie as AmanaCare’s new Care Coordinator for the Scottsbluff, Chadron, and Alliance region, serving caregivers and clients across the Panhandle with heart, humor, and a deep commitment to dignity and care.

Mattie brings a remarkable blend of compassion, clinical training, and firsthand caregiving experience to her role. Before joining AmanaCare, she worked for several years as an elementary school counselor and holds a master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling. Her background includes individual and group counseling, developing guidance programs, crisis intervention, and conducting evaluations — all skills that elevate her work with families and caregivers. She also has CNA experience, giving her a strong foundation in hands-on, patient-centered care.

What stands out most about Mattie, though, is who she is:
Bubbly. Warm. Always smiling. The kind of person who laughs easily and truly cares about people. She brings sunshine into every room — and every home — she enters.

Recently, Mattie joined Susanna Rogers, our Business Development Specialist for Western Nebraska, for a day of visiting referral partners and connecting with the community. Together they delivered gift baskets, met with service coordinators, and even made a surprise stop to bring one of our clients his favorite treat — a cold Dr. Pepper. Their partnership and friendship are already strengthening AmanaCare’s presence and purpose in the Panhandle.

Here’s how Mattie describes herself:

“I enjoy nature, wellness, and helping others become their best self mentally and physically. I highly believe in helping myself and others to become enlightened and partake in positive experiences.”

She values honesty, positivity, and good environments — qualities that radiate through her interactions every day. Mattie is also a proud mom of two and loves Italian food and coffee (though, as she says, maybe not together!).

We are incredibly grateful to have Mattie on our team. Her mix of clinical skill, real-world caregiving experience, and heartfelt passion for people will make a lasting impact on clients, caregivers, and community partners across Western Nebraska.
