The Latest from Lincoln: AmanaCare Leaders Attend National Home Care Conferences

AmanaCare Lincoln Updates: Home Care Conferences & Growth

At AmanaCare, we believe that when we invest in our people, we ultimately invest in our clients, caregivers, and the communities we serve. That’s why continuing education, leadership development, and industry training are so important to us. In February, several members of our leadership team traveled to national home care conferences to learn, grow, and bring new ideas back to Nebraska.

Home Care Evolution Boot Camp – Atlanta, Georgia

Our Executive Director, Jenny Laschanzky, and Central Nebraska Business Development Specialist, Amber Corbin, attended the Home Care Evolution Boot Camp in Atlanta. This event focuses on leadership, growth strategies, operations, marketing, and building strong home care organizations.

The boot camp is led by industry leader Steve “The Hurricane,” who has helped home care agencies across the country improve operations, strengthen teams, and grow sustainably. The training focuses on building systems that work, strengthening referral relationships, improving hiring strategies, and creating a strong company culture.

Jenny shared that one of her biggest takeaways from the boot camp was the importance of leadership and culture in a growing home care organization.

“I walked away with a stronger understanding of how to grow and scale a home care business while staying truly caregiver and client focused. The biggest takeaways for me were around leadership, building a standout culture, strengthening referral partnerships, and being more intentional with both hiring and marketing strategies.”

Amber also found the experience incredibly valuable, especially from a marketing and relationship-building perspective.

“One of the biggest takeaways for me was the importance of being thoughtful and intentional in how we market home care. It’s not just about growth; it’s about building meaningful relationships, strengthening referral partnerships, and telling the story of compassionate care in a way that truly reflects the heart behind what we do.”

Both Jenny and Amber emphasized how grateful they were to work for a company that invests in its employees and leadership development.

“When a company pours into its team like that, it allows us to pour even more of ourselves into the clients and families we serve.”

AxisCare EVOLVE User Conference – Austin, Texas

At the same time, Mikah Christensen and Nancy Smolik, Directors of Care Coordination, attended the EVOLVE AxisCare User Conference in Austin, Texas. AxisCare is the software system AmanaCare uses for scheduling, caregiver and client records, compliance, and overall operations, so staying up to date with this system is extremely important to how we serve our clients and caregivers efficiently.

The conference included industry speakers, software training, operational workshops, and networking with other home care agencies from around the country.

Mikah shared that two of her biggest takeaways were caregiver retention and the integration of artificial intelligence into the home care industry.

“The presenters did a fabulous job showcasing the importance of caregiver recognition within the first 90 days of employment. They also showed how AI can benefit agencies like ours through scheduling assistance and data management within AxisCare.”

Nancy also found the conference very valuable, especially regarding caregiver retention and mission-driven leadership.

“One of the biggest takeaways that stood out to me was how critical it is to focus on retaining caregivers. I appreciated learning about different approaches to improving retention, especially the emphasis on caregiver appreciation and meaningful engagement strategies.”

Both Mikah and Nancy also emphasized how valuable it was to connect with other home care agencies from across the country and share ideas and best practices.

Investing in People So We Can Better Serve Nebraska

At AmanaCare, we believe education and leadership development are not expenses — they are investments. When our leadership team attends conferences, training events, and industry workshops, they bring back new ideas, new systems, and new ways to improve how we support our caregivers and clients.

These experiences help us:

  • Improve caregiver retention and support
  • Strengthen leadership and company culture
  • Improve scheduling and operations
  • Build stronger referral partnerships
  • Stay current with industry trends and technology
  • Continue growing while staying true to our mission

Most importantly, these opportunities help us continue honoring our mission:

“We honor the God-given dignity of those we serve and lead.”

We are incredibly grateful for leaders like Jenny, Amber, Mikah, and Nancy, who are always willing to learn, grow, and bring new ideas back to AmanaCare so we can continue serving Nebraska families with excellence.
