September gave our AmanaCare Omaha team plenty of opportunities to do what we believe local home care teams should do: get out into the community, build relationships, and learn about the people and organizations serving Omaha families.
From senior wellness and cultural celebration to an extraordinary new resource for combat-wounded veterans, our Omaha team spent the month connecting with organizations whose work intersects with our own mission of helping people live with dignity, support and connection.
Falling Into Health at Crown Pointe
Jeff Nogg, Director of Operations for Omaha, and April Finnell, Scheduling Coordinator, represented AmanaCare at the Fall Into Health Wellness Expo at Crown Pointe Sonida in Omaha.
The two-day event brought together resources related to senior living, caregiving, wellness, aging and future planning. Jeff and April hosted an AmanaCare vendor table, giving attendees an opportunity to ask questions about in-home care and learn more about the options available to Omaha families.
Events like this are especially valuable because conversations about care don’t always begin when someone is ready to hire a caregiver. Sometimes they begin months earlier with a simple question: What options are available if Mom or Dad eventually needs more help?
Being present gives our Omaha team an opportunity to start those conversations before a family is in crisis.
Celebrating a “World at Home”
Just a day later, Jeff joined Lailoni Esparza, Omaha Onboarding Specialist, for World Bash 2026: A World at Home, benefiting the Intercultural Senior Center.
Held September 24, World Bash celebrated culture, connection and community while supporting programs that help older adults thrive. The evening included cultural experiences, food, entertainment and performances, all centered around the idea that home is more than a place; it’s also friendship, belonging and feeling welcomed and valued. That message strongly resonates with AmanaCare.
The Intercultural Senior Center serves adults age 50 and older from throughout the greater Omaha metro, with particular attention to older adults facing barriers involving language, culture, isolation or transportation. Its programming includes meals, activities, health and wellness opportunities, education and senior advocacy. Intercultural Senior Center
For Jeff and Lailoni, attending World Bash was an opportunity to support an organization doing meaningful work while continuing to build relationships within Omaha’s diverse senior community.
Honoring Service at the Dunham House Dedication
Earlier in September, Tim Martens, Chief Growth Officer, and Jeff Nogg attended the dedication of Omaha’s new Dunham House, a project of Wounded Warriors Family Support.
The facility near 60th and Sheffield was created to serve combat-wounded veterans, including those living with wounds of war. The facility has capacity for 30 veterans and sits on 8.5 acres of a larger 40-acre site with room for future expansion. https://www.wowt.com Dunham House is named in honor of Marine Corporal Jason Dunham, who was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor after shielding fellow Marines from a grenade blast while serving in Iraq.
For AmanaCare, the opportunity to attend the dedication was especially meaningful. We are honored to serve veterans and their families through home care, and learning about resources such as Dunham House helps our team better understand the support available within the Omaha community.
More Than Being Seen
Community involvement isn’t simply about putting an AmanaCare logo on a table. It’s about conversations.
It’s learning what other organizations do well. It’s meeting the people behind those organizations. It’s discovering resources we may someday be able to share with a family who doesn’t know where to turn.
And it’s making sure that when an Omaha family eventually does need help at home, they recognize AmanaCare as a team that was already here—showing up, listening and participating in the community.
As our Omaha office continues to grow, we’re excited to keep building those connections throughout the metro.
