The fight against Alzheimer’s matters now more than ever. AmanaCare was honored to have a table at this year’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s in North Platte, held at Cody Park on September 28. This inspiring event brought the community together in support of families facing Alzheimer’s and dementia, and we were proud to stand alongside so many passionate advocates for awareness, care, and research.
Highest-Earning Company in North Platte
AmanaCare is deeply humbled to share that we were recognized as the highest-earning company at the event. Every dollar raised through the Walk helps further the care, support, and research efforts of the Alzheimer’s Association, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) dedicated to finding a cure and supporting families impacted by this devastating disease. Contributions are tax-deductible and go directly toward making a real difference.
Representing Home Care at the Walk
Our team was represented by Heather Schanou, Marketing Director, and Sara Schroeder, North Platte Care Coordinator, who hosted the AmanaCare table. They enjoyed connecting with attendees, answering questions about our services, and sharing how quality in-home care can support individuals living with Alzheimer’s or dementia. If you’re interested in home care in North Platte, connecting with Heather and Sara will get you on the right path to resources.
We also had the privilege of visiting with the Nurse Honor Guard after their moving white flower ceremony, which honored lives touched by Alzheimer’s. The ceremony served as a powerful reminder of the importance of compassion, dignity, and remembrance in the journey of care.
Community, Connection, and Hope
The Walk to End Alzheimer’s is more than just an event — it’s a community rallying together for hope and progress. Ashley Shum, Walk to End Alzheimer’s Manager at the Alzheimer’s Association Nebraska Chapter, summed up the day beautifully:
“We had a wonderful turnout for the Walk, and the energy was absolutely incredible from start to finish. I’m beyond grateful for the North Platte community — your warmth, enthusiasm, and support meant the world to me.”
Moving Forward Together
At AmanaCare, we are committed to honoring the God-given dignity of every person we serve and lead. Events like this remind us why we do what we do — providing compassionate, reliable, faith-based care so families don’t have to walk this journey alone. Whether you’re interested in Medicaid Waiver Home Care in North Platte, utilizing Veterans benefits for care, or private pay options, our team is here to support you.
We look forward to continuing our partnership with organizations like the Alzheimer’s Association and supporting families across Nebraska in the fight to end Alzheimer’s.
