The Kearney team has been making the most of summer by strengthening community partnerships, supporting inclusive events, and finding creative ways to brighten the lives of clients and families throughout Central Nebraska.
Delivering Sunshine, One Visit at a Time
There’s nothing quite like receiving an unexpected surprise.
Throughout the summer, the Kearney office has been delivering Sunny Days Care Packages to clients across the area. Whenever possible, these special deliveries are paired with supervisory visits, giving the team an opportunity to check in with clients and their families, ensure care plans are being carried out successfully, and spend meaningful time together.
The cheerful care packages are more than just seasonal gifts—they’re a reminder that our clients are valued, appreciated, and cared for beyond their daily services. Sometimes a little sunshine is all it takes to brighten someone’s day.
Celebrating Disability Pride
AmanaCare was proud to participate in The Arc of Buffalo County’s Disability Pride Celebration, held this year at the Holiday Inn in Kearney.
The free community event brought together individuals with disabilities, families, service providers, and community organizations for an afternoon of connection, education, and celebration. Guests enjoyed a resource fair, interactive activities, community discussions, and a dance celebrating inclusion and belonging.
The event’s theme, “The World Works Better With Us,” perfectly reflects AmanaCare’s belief that every individual deserves dignity, opportunity, and the chance to live as independently as possible.
Our team enjoyed connecting with attendees, answering questions about in-home care services, and sharing how AmanaCare supports individuals with disabilities and their families throughout Central Nebraska.
Creating an Inclusive Fair Experience
The Kearney team also participated in the Buffalo County Fair’s Special Needs Day, an incredible event designed to give children and adults with developmental or physical disabilities their own welcoming and accessible fair experience.
With support from volunteers and community organizations, attendees enjoyed games, activities, animal tours, sensory-friendly experiences, and one-on-one assistance throughout the event.
AmanaCare was honored to be part of a day dedicated to inclusion, joy, and creating lasting memories for families in our community.
Building Strong Community Partnerships
Strong partnerships help us provide even better care—and Central Nebraska continues to demonstrate the power of collaboration.
Amber Corbin, Business Development Specialist for Central Nebraska, recently attended A Toast to Partnership, a networking event hosted by CountryHouse Residence in Kearney. The event brought together approximately 30 community professionals to strengthen relationships and celebrate collaboration.
While one lucky attendee took home a beautiful Michael Kors purse, Amber walked away with something just as valuable—new connections and strengthened partnerships that ultimately benefit the families we serve.
Working Together to Educate Healthcare Professionals
Amber has also been partnering with McKenna O’Rourke from Angels Care Home Health to present educational Lunch & Learns at hospitals and healthcare clinics throughout the region.
Last month, the duo visited Phelps Memorial Health Center and Family Medical Specialties, sharing information and resources that help healthcare professionals better understand the support available for patients transitioning safely home.
At AmanaCare, we believe collaboration—not competition—helps strengthen the continuum of care and leads to better outcomes for the individuals and families we all serve.
From delivering sunshine to clients and celebrating inclusion at community events to building meaningful healthcare partnerships throughout Central Nebraska, the Kearney team continues to demonstrate AmanaCare’s commitment to compassionate care, community involvement, and servant-hearted leadership.
As we continue Keeping Up with Kearney, we’re grateful for every opportunity to connect with our neighbors, support local organizations, and make a positive difference—one relationship at a time.
