Last month, AmanaCare was proud to attend a job fair and rapid response hiring event in Lexington, standing alongside local organizations working to support families affected by the upcoming Tyson plant closure. These events are part of a broader community effort to ensure that displaced workers have access to resources, guidance, and meaningful employment opportunities—and AmanaCare is honored to be part of that solution.
Supporting Nebraska Workers Through Collaboration
Following the announcement by Jim Pillen regarding a multi-agency collaboration to assist impacted Lexington families, state and local partners mobilized quickly. The Lexington Community Foundation, in coordination with service organizations, helped host events designed to connect workers with programs, services, and new career paths.
For workers seeking immediate assistance, a dedicated hotline—308-407-1517—is available to connect individuals with programs through the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services and the Department of Labor. Language assistance is available to ensure families can access the help they need.
Employment Opportunities Close to Home
The Nebraska Department of Labor is hosting multiple upcoming job fairs and NEworks sessions to help displaced workers explore new opportunities. These events feature Nebraska employers actively hiring and provide hands-on assistance with registering on NEworks.nebraska.gov, where job seekers can search for open positions statewide.
AmanaCare will continue to be present at some of these hiring events to share information about caregiver job opportunities in Kearney and surrounding communities. As demand for compassionate, dependable home care continues to grow, so does our team—and we’re excited to meet individuals who feel called to make a difference.
Meet Brenae: Leading the Way in Caregiver Outreach
At the Lexington event—and future hiring events—you’ll find Brenae Weimers, AmanaCare’s Caregiver Recruiting & Outreach Specialist, at the helm. Brenae brings energy, clarity, and heart to every conversation, answering questions about caregiver roles, job requirements, training, and benefits. She’s passionate about helping people find work that matters—and about connecting caregivers with clients who truly need them.
Expanding Support with Bilingual Access
We’re also excited to share that Mayra Flores recently joined AmanaCare as our Receptionist, providing call direction for the entire company, HR assistance to Jodi Bronson, our HR Director, and bilingual support for Spanish-speaking applicants, caregivers, and clients. This addition strengthens our commitment to accessibility and ensures more Nebraskans can confidently navigate employment and care options with us.
Looking Ahead: Growing Together in 2026
AmanaCare plans to attend several statewide hiring events throughout 2026, continuing to share employment opportunities and connect with communities across Nebraska. With Brenae leading outreach and Mayra supporting bilingual communication, we’re ready to meet families where they are—offering stable jobs, meaningful work, and a company culture rooted in dignity, compassion, and growth.
If you’re looking for a career that makes an impact—or know someone who is—keep an eye out for AmanaCare at upcoming job fairs. We’re growing, we’re hiring, and we’re proud to show up for Nebraska communities when it matters most. To find out more about AmanaCare’s employment opportunities.
