Last month was full of meaningful conversations, new connections, and fresh ideas in Omaha — and we’re excited to share what’s been happening.
Learning from Savvy Seniors
Heather Schanou, Marketing Director for AmanaCare, attended a powerful seminar hosted by Nebraska Savvy Seniors at St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church on Maple Road in Omaha. The seminar was titled:
“Love, Legacy & Letting Go: What Really Matters Most.”
The takeaways were both practical and deeply personal:
- Tools for meaningful family conversations
- Creating a thoughtful legacy plan
- Strategies to simplify emotional and physical clutter
Nebraska Savvy Seniors is dedicated to empowering the senior community with the knowledge, tools, and support needed to navigate life’s transitions with confidence and ease. Their mission is to enrich the lives of seniors through expert-led seminars, practical resources, and a vibrant sense of community.
They cover a wide range of topics designed to enhance well-being and independence — and their seminars are always free and open to all seniors in Nebraska.
If you haven’t attended one yet, we encourage you to check out their upcoming seminar schedule at www.nesavvyseniors.com.
Heather walked away with insights she’s already sharing with AmanaCare clients and even with loved ones in her own life. With both of her parents now passed, she reflected on how helpful this information would have been during those seasons. Planning ahead matters. Conversations matter. Relationships are paramount.
In fact, Heather is currently writing blog articles inspired by both the seminar and her lived experience — because education only grows more valuable when it’s shared.
A New Connection with ArchWell Health
While attending Savvy Seniors, Heather also connected with Casie Haley from ArchWell Health — and what began as a conversation is quickly growing into collaboration.
ArchWell Health has three locations in Omaha and one in Lincoln, offering senior-focused primary care for adults 60+. Their model emphasizes:
- Holistic, preventative care
- Longer appointments
- Accessible neighborhood centers
- Community activities and engagement
- A value-based approach that rewards better health outcomes
Their centers are bright, welcoming spaces designed specifically for seniors, staffed with physicians and care teams trained to support older adults on their wellness journey. In addition to comprehensive wellness services, ArchWell hosts activities and programs at their locations to foster connection and community.
AmanaCare and ArchWell are now exploring ways to team up — educating, informing, and even entertaining seniors in the Omaha area through joint activities, presentations, and events.
Stay tuned — this partnership is just getting started.
Growth in Southeast Nebraska
Between seminars, community events, and intentional relationship-building, AmanaCare’s presence in southeast Nebraska continues to grow.

Last month was filled with seminars and chance meetings with incredible people who care deeply about Nebraska’s senior community.
And we’re just getting started.
