There’s meaningful work happening in Scottsbluff—and we’re grateful to be part of it.
At AmanaCare, we believe care goes beyond the home. It shows up in conversations, in partnerships, and in the way we support families and caregivers throughout the community.
Recently, our team had the opportunity to do just that in the Panhandle.
Supporting Caregivers in the Panhandle: Empowered Caregiver Conference
On April 18th, AmanaCare was proud to participate in the first annual Empowered Caregiver Conference in Scottsbluff, hosted by Regional West and the Alzheimer’s Association.
Susanna Rogers and Heather Schanou represented AmanaCare with a vendor table, connecting with caregivers, professionals, and community members throughout the day.
This conference was designed to equip dementia caregivers with practical tools and support, including:
- communication strategies
- safety considerations
- managing behaviors
- and supporting independence
With experts from across Nebraska sharing their knowledge, the event created a space where caregivers could feel supported, educated, and encouraged.
At our table, we shared resources about:
- in-home caregiving services
- hiring caregivers
- and our family caring for family programs
But more importantly—we listened.
Because caregiving can be overwhelming, and sometimes what people need most isn’t just information…
It’s to feel seen, understood, and supported.
Investing in Families Early: Scottsbluff Public Schools Family Success Center
In addition to the conference, Susanna had the opportunity to present to the Scottsbluff Public Schools Family Success Center—a program doing incredible work for students and families in the area.
The Family Success Center focuses on:
- removing barriers to school attendance
- connecting families to resources
- supporting at-risk students
- and providing outreach for families experiencing hardship
Schools are often where challenges first become visible.
Whether it’s housing instability, health concerns, or family stress—these needs show up early, and they matter.
By building relationships with organizations like the Family Success Center, AmanaCare is able to:
- connect with families sooner
- provide guidance and resources
- and help prevent small challenges from becoming larger crises
Why Community Presence Matters
In a region like the Panhandle, connection is everything.
Access to resources can look different here—and that makes collaboration even more important.
That’s why we stay involved in:
- local events
- school partnerships
- and community conversations
Because when organizations work together, families are better supported.
Serving Scottsbluff and the Panhandle
Susanna Rogers continues to lead AmanaCare’s presence in the Panhandle with a heart for people and a commitment to showing up where it matters.
Whether it’s:
- supporting caregivers at events
- connecting with families through local programs
- or helping individuals remain safely at home
our goal remains the same:
To provide compassionate, reliable care and meaningful support to the communities we serve.
💙 Scottsbluff, we’re grateful to serve you—and we’re here for you.
