There’s a lot happening at AmanaCare’s Kearney office! With team members stepping into new roles, a continued focus on supporting clients and caregivers, and plenty of opportunities to connect throughout central Nebraska, the Kearney team continues to grow its impact in the region.
Experienced Leadership in Kearney
Leading the Kearney office is Nancy Smolik, Director of Operations. Nancy has been part of AmanaCare for more than two years and recently stepped into the Director of Operations role, bringing with her more than 23 years of healthcare experience.
Nancy began her career as a CNA and has steadily expanded her skills and responsibilities throughout her career. That hands-on experience gives her a valuable perspective as she now oversees operations and growth for the Kearney office.
As AmanaCare continues empowering its Directors of Operations to lead at the local level, Nancy’s experience and familiarity with both the organization and the healthcare industry make her an important part of AmanaCare’s continued growth in central Nebraska.
Advocating for Clients Behind the Scenes
Also based in Kearney is Chelsea Jensen, AmanaCare’s Authorization & Compliance Coordinator.
While the position is a new one for Chelsea at AmanaCare, the work itself is very familiar. Before joining AmanaCare, Chelsea served as a Service Coordinator with the League of Human Dignity, giving her extensive experience working with authorizations and navigating services for individuals who need support.
Today, Chelsea helps ensure AmanaCare remains compliant while also advocating for clients when their needs may warrant additional care hours. It’s important work that often happens behind the scenes but can make a significant difference in ensuring clients receive the support they need.
Connecting Caregivers and Clients
McKenzie Petersen, Recruiting and Outreach Specialist, is another new addition to the Kearney team.
McKenzie brings a team-first attitude to her role and a genuine desire to help wherever she’s needed. Through recruiting, she works to find compassionate caregivers and connect them with clients who need care—an especially important responsibility as AmanaCare continues growing throughout the region.
Her role also includes outreach, giving McKenzie opportunities to represent AmanaCare in the community, build relationships, and help more people understand both the care and employment opportunities available through AmanaCare.
Connecting Throughout Central Nebraska
Kearney’s reach extends well beyond the city. The team serves Kearney and surrounding communities, including Grand Island and Hastings, creating plenty of opportunities to build relationships throughout central Nebraska.
Recently, AmanaCare participated in the Grand Island Senior Resource Fair at the Grand Generation Senior Center, connecting directly with older adults and other organizations serving seniors in the area.
Events like these are about much more than setting up a table and handing out brochures. They give our team the opportunity to hear directly from seniors and families, learn more about the needs within individual communities, and develop relationships with other senior-care professionals whose services complement our own.
At AmanaCare, we believe collaboration makes communities stronger. When home care agencies, healthcare providers, senior resources, nonprofits and other organizations know one another and understand the services each provides, it becomes easier to connect families with the right help at the right time.
Growing With the Communities We Serve
With Nancy leading local operations, Chelsea supporting authorizations and compliance, and McKenzie strengthening caregiver recruitment and community outreach, AmanaCare continues to build a strong foundation for growth throughout central Nebraska.
They’re joined in the Kearney office by Jodi Bronson, Joann Billings, Mayra Flores, and Kathy Quail, making Kearney an important central Nebraska hub for AmanaCare. Together, this team supports many of the people and processes that keep our clients cared for, our caregivers supported, and our operations moving forward.
There’s plenty happening in Kearney—and even more ahead as we continue growing, connecting, and finding new ways to serve the clients, caregivers, and communities we’re blessed to support.
